UCLA’S MFA Screenwriting Program is the finest and most successful screenwriting program in the world.
UCLA’s Master of Fine Arts in Screenwriting is a two year program designed to develop writers who wish to specialize in film and television. The elements of character, dialogue, scene, setting, texture, style, and tone are explored through an intensive workshop process; but primarily students are encouraged to concentrate upon the challenge of writing a well-structured story inhabited by vivid, compelling characters. Established in 1965, the UCLA screenwriting program has provided a strong foundation for hundreds of alumni. Program graduates may be found in all areas of film and television writing.
