Script P.I.M.P.’s annual screenplay competition looks for the best and the brightest undiscovered screenwriting talent from around the world. The competition has helped a plethora of writers gain representation. In the first year, 2003, one of the winners, SLAMMIN, written by Aaron Metchik and Joseph Garner, sold to Warner Bros. for six-figures in February, 2004. The Hollywood Improv hosts the awards ceremony where representatives from CAA, Brillstein Grey, ICM, Endeavor, Paramount Pictures, Disney, New Regency, William Morris, fill the house to meet the winning writers.
Competition Information: The competition prize money is $10,000 and another $14,000 in prizes. Each screenplay entered is guaranteed two (2) reads from the Script Pimp panel of judges. Composed of working literary agents, literary managers and development directors from the film industry, the judges are searching for the best stories told by the best screenwriters demonstrating the best craft. This includes online registrations. If you submit your script online the entire script is printed and read by a minimum of two (2) judges.
