UCLA’s Professional Program in Screenwriting is modeled after the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television’s MFA screenwriting program and stresses the theory and craft of professional screenwriting, without the critical studies seminars and related electives required for the MFA degree. The goal of the program, which takes place over three academic quarters, is for the student to complete two feature length screenplays.
Alumni of the UCLA Professional Program in Screenwriting have sold material to New Line Cinema, Miramax, Sony, MGM, 20 th Century Fox, Artisan, Disney, MTV, Warner Bros, Paramount, Ovation Films, Pandora Films, RKO Pictures, Radar Pictures, New Regency, Alliance Pictures, and more.
